Dialysis patients have higher mortality when compared to the general population; however, we are now seeing a drop in these mortality rates. According to an article on NephrologyNews.com, titled “Dialysis patient mortality rates fall more than 20% in five years”, the American Society of Nephrology’s Kidney Week revealed a 24% drop in mortality rates from 2007 to 2012. The 2015 Annual Data Report (ADR) shows similar results, with a 28.2% drop between 1999 and 2013.
